The Mission of Parkour.com

For two years now, I have been thinking extra deeply about the Parkour.com site with the intention of finding a purpose and mission for it. I have finally arrived at one that I feel confident publishing, standing behind, and working for.

The mission of Parkour.com will now be…

  • To help Traceurs reach their fullest athletic potential in the sport of Parkour.
  • To help Traceurs make a living through the sport of Parkour.

Here a few ways we intend to pursue our mission:

Help Traceurs reach their fullest athletic potential in the sport of Parkour.

This means empowering new and experienced Traceurs alike through providing valuable training content and social connections that will help them progress, stay healthy, and recover quickly when needed.

  • Interviewing Parkour pros to bring their perspective, experience, and insight to the larger community
  • Tutorials & How To’s
  • Recovery techniques & Rehabilitation guides
  • Location scouting and write-ups
  • Connecting Traceurs, gyms, and coaches so they can learn and grow together

Help Traceurs make a living through the sport of Parkour.

This means finding ways to both directly and indirectly support Traceurs in their Parkour-based career aspirations and Parkour-based businesses.

  • Promoting individual Traceurs and helping them grow their network and following
  • Providing business insight and guidance for those looking to start Parkour businesses
  • Bringing attention to Parkour gyms around the world
  • Promoting Parkour clothing and shoe brands
  • Promoting and recapping Parkour events
  • Directly providing financial support to Traceurs, Parkour initiatives, and events
Take Flight has been a long time supporter of Parkour.com. They actually pay all our hosting bills, so we love them. But we want to support ALL the Parkour brands out there, and promote their products, drops, etc.

In all of this, there is an outstanding question that many of you are probably asking:

“How will Parkour.com make money from all this?”

My answer to that is, “I don’t know, and I don’t care.” Parkour.com isn’t a business – it’s an extension of the community. Everyone currently contributing to Parkour.com, including myself, is a volunteer, and everything outlined above is intended to be done for free. It will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

If you want to be a part of this new mission at Parkour.com, send us an email through our contact page and let us know your ideas and how you’d like to be involved. We’d love to hear from you, work with you, and bring your passion and vision to the site and the Parkour community at large.
